GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND PARTYING COMMON SENSE Many warnings from childhood and adolescence are applicable to live-in and working in Chile, Argentina and Peru no matter how old you are:
TRUST YOUR GUT If a situation (meeting, conversation, etc.) or location feels shady or "not quite right" - it probably is. Excuse yourself from the situation, turn around and go the other away. PLAN AND PREPARE Know how to get where you're going - plan your route and scout or become familiar with the neighborhood. Have a backup plan - e.g. how will I get home if the Metro or Subte is closed? Always keep your cell phone charged. Purchase an extra charger or portable power source (make sure to charge that as well). |
